Jess Dang is a Chinese-American Writer/Director/Creative Director born and based in Los Angeles. She has global media experience working across B2B, B2C, and D2C sectors in the tech, lifestyle, and fashion industries. Dang thrives on building and leading teams with empathy, building brands that feel relational, and identifying opportunities to influence and reach communities. In her most recent role, Dang served as Creative Director at Audible, where she led the design direction and oversaw global titles, launching 360-campaigns for prominent Audible Originals. Jess helped bring titles to market across North America and Canada, including both English and French releases. Driven by a passion for blending data, research, and strategy, Dang is dedicated to creating work with lasting impact.
Dang's creative philosophy is rooted in her belief that art is a universal language. This belief and her background in music and painting drive her to create visual conversations rooted in discovery and emotional resonance. Jess is committed to telling stories of the broad human experience.
Her client roster includes: Audible, Google, Snapchat, Intel, Kelsey Grammer's "Faith American Ale", Cartoon Network, I Love NY, Target, Verizon, University of Pittsburgh, Google, Wet Seal, MTV, Gold's Gym, Choice Hotels, and The Islands of The Bahamas, among others. She is known for her conceptual approach to branding, design and storytelling across multimedia platforms. Her work continues to reach multiple audiences due to her use of color and forms.
Dang is a Film Independent Fast Track Fellow, a participant in The Gotham Film & Media Institute's' Owning It' program, and a NewFilmmakers Los Angeles NewNarratives grant recipient in partnership with the Rhulen Family Foundation, honoring the late movie producer Anthony Rhulen (The Butterfly Effect).
Jess holds an MFA in Film & Television Production from USC's School of Cinematic Arts and a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design.
She loves modern art museums, kayaking to recharge without her phone, and is a dedicated bruncher.
